Why Not You? Motivational Thoughts on the Underdog

“Comparison is the thief of joy.”

Collection of Thought

Throughout the entirety of the Bible, we see timidness and boldness, the underdog and the favorite, the anointed and the evil. The ambition and the drive of these legendary Christians should make you energized and juiced. You see examples of the underdog winning, the speechless ones use their voice to power, the degenerate lives of the disciples, and you think that you can’t win? What part of reading the Bible made you conclude that one should be fearful and timid?

The more frequent you dreadfully compare yourself to the external, the more you damage your internal.

You may be afraid of public opinion, may think that you are not capable of living out your dream; why? Did God not rescue the underdogs from Egypt? Did Jesus not dine with the tax collectors and sinners?

Who says you can’t live out your dream? Why not you?

“No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.” – 1 Corinthians 10:13

God does not give you thoughts and ambitions that you cannot beat, every passionate and dreadful thought can be destroyed. Any plan can be accomplished, any sin can be crushed, any fear can be passed along. God is any and all.

With God, nobody can be against you; so why not you?

When negativity, fear, and anxiety is placed on you, think to yourself: would you rather a loved one have these thoughts and feelings? No, you do not, so take it like you own it and pass it to God. No true man would wish dread on anybody else, so relish in it, feel the pain and the fear; learn and destroy it, and move along. Why not you to feel thus?

The foundational wisdom of the Old Testament is to fear God, so why question his power and authority over your life?

Ask Yourself:

  • Is God not powerful enough to turn a rock into a King?
  • Has God not annointed the underdogs before?
  • Did God not use the man who could barely speak, to boldly proclaim to the Pharoah to let his people free?
  • Do you get more than one life?
  • Are you scared of the external evil?
  • Did Jesus not say that the world would hate you?
  • Why care about the external opinion?
  • Are we not supposed to crucify our flesh for our Lord?
  • Has God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit not performed miracles?
  • Why not you?

Quotes, Practice, Conclusion

When I stand before God, and he asks me why I killed one of his true miracles, what do I say? That it was my job? (The Green Mile)

Practice this: Do not let anything that is not divine action affect you.

Nothing but Jesus can save you, fear of the world is not a divine enough excuse to commit sin. Now that we know that the external thought does not correlate to the divine, why care about worldly opinion? Who on Earth can tell you who you are, and are not supposed to be, except God? Think of your goals and your dreams, you will let the world stop you from reaching thus? Why can’t it be you to change the world?

Own up to everything.

Paraphrased: One cannot say to God that a man told me to do thus, this will not suffice. (Kingdom of Heaven)

Do you not understand that you only have one life? And you are wasting time you cannot buy back on fear and contemplation? Live your life to the fullest, realize that you are second, and take every hit on the chin and move forward. You have one life, make an impact; transform your internal to change the external. Do not make excuses, do not give up, and certainly of all, realize that you can do anything with God.
