How to Obtain Wisdom, Knowledge, & Betterment

There are many ways in which we can obtain knowledge, wisdom, and betterment. Learning from personal experience, the Napoleon Hill method of conversing with the 1%, seeking God’s righteousness through His word; life is a game that we can play for the better or for the worse.

In this blog, I want to deep-dive the different ways we can “level-up” throughout our life gifted by God. Whether it is human to human, divine to human, or page to human. If you are still breathing, you can become better in some way. I pray you never lose that passion, as there is always time to inspire others, convert people to Christianity, and become the best person possible.

Preface

“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” – 1 John 1:9 ESV

If you feel like your wrongs cannot be made right, then let me introduce you to Jesus Christ. Whether you are a believer or not, Jesus Christ has forgiven you. We all fail, we all believe we are on the side of good, we all have made grave mistakes. But there is a man, rather, a God, that gives life to your death.

If you do not believe in Jesus and feel hopeless, then I have ultimately forced your hand. You have nothing left to try and want to change; therefore, you must come to truth.

Jesus Christ is the truth; He is the only one that can fulfill you and give you eternal life.

No matter how much you chase the wind looking for materialistic satisfaction, you will never be content. When you feel as if there is no hope in your life, you must put your hope in God. God’s word allows for you to transform into the person you are meant to become. Scripture allows you to right your wrongs, become obedient for true internal satisfaction, and become ultimately better.

There is no better food for the soul than the word of God.

I was once lost, my identity shattered. I was a hedonist, thinking that happiness was under the sun. But then, I gave my life to Jesus Christ and His ways. Now, I am reborn; the old me forever gone. I am now grateful, and never down.

I found knowledge in history; I found wisdom in Jesus Christ.

If you are a believer and feel hopeless, I want you to cry out to God. It is a conversation, not an empty statement. If you are not a believer and feel hopeless, I want you to read one bible verse and pray after. Even if you do not fully believe in the moment, you will take a step toward betterment.

Prayer gives believers and non-believers positive internalization.

Human Growth

There are many ways to become wiser, more knowledgeable, and better on Earth. Let me state now, God is the foundation of all things, but this subheading will exclude prayer and scripture, which is why it is titled human.

First, there is the personal way of gaining knowledge, wisdom, and betterment. This would involve a multitude of ways, like reading a biography of a great man and learning from said experience, taking a risk and learning from mistakes, and speaking to the wise.

Personal experience is the best way to learn, and apply what you have learned.

I have spoken in other blogs about the importance of reading books, and the importance of studying the greats. The greats study the greats and apply what they learn. Studying greats also allows you to start to believe that you can also do the same thing that they did. If they had a similar background to yours, it shoots a ray of belief into your soul, that you yourself can become great.

Reading also allows your vocabulary and retention to become better, as when you read, you are doing it in your own voice. So, your brain picks up on your voice and strong terminology which reflects itself out into the real world.

However, you can read all you like, but if you do not apply it, it does not matter. Aristotle once said that “Intelligence consists not only in knowledge but also in the skill to apply that knowledge into practice.” Therefore, you must apply what you learn or it is worthless.

Now, with the application of your knowledge, you will now create your own experiences. Whether is it repetitious, or for the first time, you will be able to learn and adjust your gameplan for a higher success rate. From experience, creates mistakes, which creates personal growth.

Be able to learn from your experience and mistakes, to turn knowledge into wisdom and betterment.

The last thing I will touch on is the importance of having conversations with people that have done what you want to accomplish. This can either be financially, politically, or academically.

Believe him or not, the story goes that Napoleon Hill was told to interview the top 1% of people and implement from their experiences and learn from their mistakes. This allowed him to publish a book on his findings, which shot him into stardom.

Having an ear to hear while talking to the wise allows you to build a foundation and insight into what may or may not happen with your goals. The ones who have gone before you and have more experience than you, will give you indirect shortcuts on how to succeed, while ultimately creating a friendship through advice sharing (psychological trick.)

Divine Growth

“There are some things in them that are hard to understand, which the ignorant and unstable twist to their own destruction, as they do the other Scriptures. 17 You therefore, beloved, knowing this beforehand, take care that you are not carried away with the error of lawless people and lose your own stability. 18 But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be the glory both now and to the day of eternity. Amen.” – 2 Peter 3:16-19

Now that we have discussed how to become better on Earth with a foundation of God, we will now talk about how to get divine knowledge, wisdom, and betterment. This will revolve around prayer, scripture, obedience, belief, and sacrifice.

First, you will have to sacrifice your hedonistic ways. This sacrifice will increase your divinely obedience to Jesus Christ. You will now find fulfillment in God, rather than in the world. This increase in obedience will allow your strength to increase in prayer, foundation, and virtue.

When you keep God at the foundation of all things and truly believe that He answers prayers, cares for you, and can-do unreasonable things, your spirit will become filled with belief in yourself. Just as the disciples were filled with the Spirit, we are as well. I want you to become as obedient to God as possible. With this, you can slowly increase your belief and strength over time with the Lord our God.

We must sacrifice the pleasure of the flesh for the obedience of God.

Next, you must choose to fear the Lord and be humble in His way. Learn how to listen, not talk; to God or to man. God answers your prayers; you just have to have an ear to hear. If you are in a conversation and are thinking about what you are going to say next compared to listening, you are a bad conversator and will never learn anything.

You must be an active listener to man, and to God.

Conclusion

It is baffling how people condone to society’s way of thinking but also feel that we are being corrupted in some way. If they systematically took God out of schools, but you still feel as if corruption is rampant, then does that not make you question if God is actually real? They will sit here and say something came from nothing and that you are a speck of dust in the universe. Which the population eats right up.

But we have the power of God on our side. Who would rather choose society’s way of thinking compared to God is on our side? Even selfishly thinking? “I am a speck of dust” or “I can do all things through Christ.”

Show me one person in which atheism has helped someone, and I can find 10,000 Christians. It is so sad to see how people would rather be nihilistic compared to divine.

Call it that I am coping, but I call it truth.

I genuinely get heartbroken when I see that someone would rather live their miserable life then believe in an almighty creator. Keep in mind, every person of antiquity believed in a God. But you would rather believe in society’s perspective; the same one that you say is corrupt.

I pray that you find God if you don’t. He is the truth. If you have God, I pray that you stay obedient to His way, and please Him over humanity. God is the way, the truth, and the life. Jesus died on the cross for your sins. He dwells in you; you do not have to be a speck of dust in a false reality that you eat like slop. He knows you by name, he listens to you, loves you, cares for you, answers your prayers. How could one not choose this life?

If you increase your belief in Jesus Christ, you increase your belief in yourself. This is how you obtain knowledge, wisdom, and betterment.
