So, You Have Jesus: Now What?

You have finally given your life to Jesus; you have been filled with the holy spirit. You took that leap of faith at church, or with your family, or in your bed, that you will now dedicate your life to Jesus. In that moment, you have a rush of emotion, you feel inspired and on fire for the Lord. But tomorrow you wake up and think to yourself,

“Now what?“

In this blog, I will be producing a timeline of purpose and transformation. We were all new Christians at one point, some more veteran than others, who had to build virtue and understanding through this religious transformation. This topic will allow the “lost Christians” to find their identity through Jesus, as well as create internal transformation to start living out that newfound identity.

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old is gone, the new is here! – 2 Corinthians 5:17

In The Beginning…

With true genuine transformation, you will want to tell everyone and everything about Jesus and how he fulfills you. The first morning will be filled with joy and change, as with big change causes a rush of emotions. However, the first test for you will soon come, whether it is when you are brought back to reality of your present situation or a random mishap, your faith will be tested. You will want to immediately revert back to the old ways due to muscle memory, but you will need to find God in these moments with all your being.

This is the first test, as humans like the comfortability and normalness.

When the night calls, you will have two choices: pray and read the Bible or hang out with your friends and do the same ole. This will basically be your first true test, because no part if you will want to say no to your friends. They have always been there for you, and what can a couple beers hurt? After all I am born again. If you go, you will dwell, and ask yourself,

“Now what?”

You will not have the steadfast theology to want to continue on your religious journey, and this is where most people quit their transformation. they will immediately dwell, and give up thinking they are unworthy.

Now, on the flip side, when thinking about how your friends have always been there for you through the ups and downs, you will think to yourself,

“God has always been here.”

God is time, he is co-eternal, he has always been there for you, and he has always been there with life as a whole.

If you choose to stay home and read, you will start to feel guilt and shame. Cutting off your friends and habit is uncomfortable, which is another reason why people break.

You must be okay being uncomfortable and hated for your eternal decisions.

These are some common scenarios that will happen when you are new in the faith, and if you can overcome this, you can overcome anything.

Application of Purpose & Identity

With true genuine transformation and overcoming uncomfortableness, you will need to understand your virtues and identity. You will need tips and tricks to bring you back to God, whether it is like me and picking a number and when seen, doing a mini prayer. Or, surrounding yourself with the word in its entirety, life will throw you curveballs and you will need virtues to stand on.

You will begin to think of serving others to find Jesus, you will begin to apply your skills to shine your Christian light, and your rhetoric will allow for external transformations.

You cannot change the external without changing the internal.

When you become a Christian, you will be able to let go of a lot of your fears and insecurity. This is due to the fear of God alone; fear the divine, not the world. You will begin to gain your purpose and confidence through change, because true fulfillment is through Jesus. Success will start to come your way, as your thinking is all divine positivity compared to world negativity.

Do not let this success replace God.

Just as you overcome the lows that come with Christianity, you must overcome the highs that come with Christianity. Both emotions need to end with God, and God alone.

Through this process, you will start to understand the Bible and think of ways that you yourself can apply what you read in real life. Whether it is believing that you have received your wants through God, or that cutting out your sin has filled you with the fruits of the spirit, you will start to have a Christian foundation of thought.

With this Christian thought that will be given to you, you will be able to create your own ways of talking to others about Jesus, you will become a better listener, and ultimately fulfill your duty as a Christian human.

To allow others to find eternal life, just as you have.

Your actions will change, your eyes will seem genuine, and your smile filled with joy. People that you once knew will ask you how you are always so joyful with the trials and tribulations that life brings to everyone.

You replaced the world with God, which destroys all human fear.

Conclusion

All the challenges and darkness you will face and overcome with this change, will allow you to shine your divine light on other humans’ darkness.

This is the “Now what?“

It is a journey of ups and downs, highs and lows, and will allow you to apply your skills to lead others to the kingdom of heaven.

Just as you yourself were once led by somebody.

You will begin to fall in love with progression of the spirit, and fall in love with the word of God, and all in love with building your relationship with Jesus. Gifts will be given to you by God, whether it is wealth, health, success, wisdom, pattern recognition, transformational words, etc. This is a co-ownership that God gives you by proving your foundation of faith.

And it is the best decision you will ever make.
